Mapa das Ideias is pleased to announce the final conference of the European Project TEHIC – Towards a European Heritage Interpretation Curriculumthat will take place on 26th and 27th May 2025in University of Gothenburg, in Sweden, with the possibility of watching it online.

Under the theme “Training and Professionalisation in Heritage Interpretation: Challenges and Future Directions”, the event will bring together international experts to debate topics such as digital innovation, community participation, decolonisation, sustainability in heritage tourism and the future of training in heritage interpretation.

The TEHIC is a project funded by the Erasmus+ programme that aims to create a standardised European curriculum for the training of heritage interpreters at higher education level. The aim is to promote the professional recognition of these specialists and strengthen the link between heritage and communities, through tools such as a free online course (MOOC), a manual of good practices and case studies.

We Mapa das Ideias are part of the TEHIC consortium as an active partner, contributing its experience in cultural mediation, the development of participatory methodologies and the training of professionals. Our participation includes the dynamisation of workshops, the development of pedagogical content and the promotion of links between cultural institutions and local communities.

We invite all professionals, researchers and those interested in the field of heritage to register and attend this conference, which marks the culmination of a European project dedicated to valorising the interpretation of heritage as a tool for social transformation.
