Dancing Histor(y)ies - 1 Year of Histories!

+

Our amazing project started one year ago!

These last few months have been intense, full of activities, studies, research and meetings, and our artistic partners have already held their first workshops in preparation for the 2024 Festivals.

The DH Model is set!
The "Model for enhancing archaeological sites through dance and the performing arts" is based on the principles of collaboration, community involvement and an unwavering respect for historic sites. By incorporating best practice, experience and collective knowledge, it seeks to ensure the protection, celebration and continuity of our cultural heritage for generations to come. It is a model for creating festivals that resonate with their communities and enrich the legacy of their history. Our Technical Partners worked with other partners, stakeholders and communities and collected more than 200 questionnaires from 11 countries and 60 good practices on the relationship between citizens and cultural activities, local needs, the valorisation of cultural heritage and community involvement. As a result, it was concluded that an effective model for the valorisation of heritage sites through performing arts, community involvement and territorial development should consist of 10 components:
Main activities:
- Discovering (and respecting) the site - (Finding the) Facilitator - Artistic production - Local involvement - Territorial development - Communication channels
Cross-cutting activities:
- Gender equality - Accessibility - Environmental sustainability - Social inclusion - + Continuity (Keep it alive)
At the end of the project, the good practices detected, the methodology devised and the results achieved will become shared and common knowledge, available for subsequent use and implementation at European level.

We've reached the Implementation stage!

It's time to test our implementation strategies!

The Institutional Partners, who manage the heritage sites, and the stakeholders took part in a co-design process, adapting the model to local needs. They worked together for over a month to present the model to the territories and involve the communities. For each heritage site selected, the Institutional and Technical Partners created a precise plan relating to artistic production, community involvement, territorial marketing and development. The implementation strategy is being tested in various workshops!
