Dancing Histor(y)ies

+

Dancing Histor(y)ies results from a multidisciplinary partnership (13 partners) with different approaches, competencies and missions in heritage management, performing arts, community involvement, training and territorial development, which will cooperate to overcome common challenges.

The central aim of Dancing Histor(y)ies is to design, test and evaluate a model for valorising heritage sites through performing arts, community involvement and territorial development.

This project will promote the transnational mobility of artists and professionals, the exchange of practices between professionals and cultural agents centred on how to enhance heritage sites while bringing local communities back to cultural participation and enjoyment through a quality artistic offer and inclusive and participatory creative processes.

In an international dimension, the project will promote dialogue and practices shared between partners and stakeholders at the EU level; design methodologies and action plans based on common conclusions will generate and nurture a continuous dialogue between artists, communities, cultural operators and policymakers, while the implementation of local actions will be supported by exchanges and peer learning between actors from different countries.

The heritage sites in Dancing Histor(y)ies are located in the southern part of Europe (Spain, Italy, Greece, Republic of Serbia), outside the metropolitan areas. In contrast, the dance companies come from Northern, Central and Eastern Europe: Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Bulgaria. The aim is to create a dialogue between the Mediterranean area where the shows take place and artists from other regions of Europe to overcome the limitations of a single regional perspective.
