NEMO – Network of European Museum Organisations has opened registration for the NEMO European Museum Conference: "Who cares? Museums, well-being and resilience", which will take place from 26 to 28 October in Horsens, Denmark.

For three days, museum professionals from across Europe and other continents will come together for meaningful discussions, important connections, and cross-sector collaboration.

As museums increasingly recognise their role in supporting wellbeing, social connections and therapeutic experiences, NEMO invites professionals from the museum, cultural and health sectors to explore how museums can contribute to wellbeing and resilience, and help shape the future of museum practice. The main venue, FÆNGSLET, a former prison carefully transformed into a museum and cultural centre, provides an evocative setting for exploring how museums can support mental health, well-being and community resilience.

This year's programme focuses on the growing role of museums as spaces for healing, engagement and social impact. Highlights include:

• Organisational resilience and employee well-being
• Mental health and youth engagement
• Trauma-informed and care-centred museum practices
• Interactive workshops, inspiring field trips, and many opportunities for networking

Travel grants available for South and Central-Eastern Europe

To encourage wider participation, NEMO is offering five travel and conference grants (up to €500 each) for museum professionals based in Southern and Central-Eastern Europe who are actively involved in well-being initiatives and committed to international collaboration.

The conference is co-organised by NEMO, Horsens Museum and the Danish Museum Association, with support from the Central Denmark Region and the European Region of Culture, and co-financed by the European Union.
